In 2020, of all adults and adolescents with diagnosed HIV in the United States, 27% were Hispanic/Latino persons. In 2019, the percentage of Hispanic/Latino persons who received HIV medical care, were retained in care, and were virally suppressed was lower than among non-Hispanic White persons. The National HIV/AIDS Strategy aims to reduce HIV-related disparities and inequities and recognizes the importance of addressing social and structural drivers of health among populations disproportionally affected by HIV, including Hispanic/Latino persons.
