Ability New Federal Funding Supports Tribal Public Health Central 2027-2028 Grant Cycle

Congress appropriated $360 million in FY 2026 for CDC’s Public Health Infrastructure and Capacity funding. For the first time, 3% of this funding $10.8 million is specifically designated for tribes and tribal organizations. The funding will support efforts to strengthen Tribal public health capacity and infrastructure. CDC also continues to support Tribal public health systems through its Strengthening Public Health Systems and Services in Indian Country cooperative agreement.
